INTERMODA Fashion Exhibition

INTERMODA, the 5th Annual International Fashion Exhibition will be held in Bratislava next week. The latest fashion trends can be admired in the INCHEBA Exhibition Ground from Tuesday, February 28th until Thursday, March 2nd. Also LEDER MODE SLOVAKIA, the 1st International Fair of Footwear and Leatherware will be a part of the event.

City Marathon

The 1st City Marathon will take place in Bratislava between March 31 and April 2. Except for the main run, that will start on Sunday, April 2 at 10am, the sport weekend program will also include short courses, children runs and in-line skating races. The centre of the event will be on Hviezdoslavovo square in the historic Old Town. The accompanying program of Bratislava City Marathon will consist of several concerts, performances and shows, including after-party and fireworks on Sunday evening.

Simple Minds Concert

Scotland’s Simple Minds, one of the dominant “New Wave” bands of the 1980s have been very active ever since. After releasing their Black & White 050505 album in September 2005, they headed for the roads. Bratislava has been confirmed as a stop of their tour. The concert will take place on March 30, 2006 in the PKO Concert Hall. The tickets start at SKK 890 (approx EUR 24) a piece.

Mozart in Bratislava

The 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the musical genius is celebrated not only in Salzburg and Vienna. The most famous Austrian of all times traveled to Bratislava at "the request of the Hungarian nobility" 1762. At the age of 6 he gave a concert in the rooms of the Palffy Palace on Ventrurska street.
There will be several events held in Bratislava to recall one of the most significant visitors to our Little Big City, including:

Puppet Theatre Performance of the Magic Flute at BBD, Dunajska 36 (February 17)

How Did Mozart Compose, a lecture by proffessor Dr. Otto Biba (February 20, 6pm)
