Bratislava Highlights

Bratislava Highlights

This bus tour passes the most important places,
historical and cultural sights and stops at Bratislava Castle,
Napoleon´s Hill and Slavin with their fantastic panoramic
views. It continues with a drive along the Danube to
the magnificent castle ruins situated above the confluence
of the Danube and Morava rivers, boasting a superb view
over the countryside. Following the castle visit you will sample
a local specialty - black currant wine in a typical pub.

The
Small Carpathians Wine Route
A half-day tour (approx. 5,5 hours) to a region
which has been known for its wine since Roman times. You will
be driven through the ancient royal wine towns of Svaty Jur,
Pezinok and Modra highlighting the most important sights.
You will also see how the famous Modra pottery - majolica
is produced and have an opportunity for shopping or throwing your
own pottery. The highlight of this tour is a visit of Cervený
Kamen (Red Rock Castle) - a wonderfully preserved castle with
a rich collection of furniture and weapons and the largest cellars
in Central Europe. Wine tasting is included in the programme.

Zahorie - Region
of Rich History and Traditions
A full-day tour will show you a typical landscape
of pine woods, hills of the White Carpathians, historic sights
and surviving folk traditions. You will stop at Holic which
passed its Golden Age during the reign of Maria Theresa when the
fayans brand potteries founded and Holic Palace became
the favoured holiday resort for the Habsburg family. During the
Skalica walking tour you will experience a sense of history
radiating from the cold walls of ancient buildings, churches,
monasteries and town houses and see how the local pie Skalica
Trdelnik is prepared. You will follow by bus to small vineyards
situated on the surrounding hillsides where you can admire the
folk architecture of houses used for wine production. On
the way back you will stop at a national pilgrimage site the Basilica
of the Mater Dolorosa, the patroness of Slovakia.

Charming
Austrian Villages and Imperial Vienna
To reach Vienna you will drive through Hainburg
a town with rich history and monuments and pass through Heathens´
Gate, the best known monument from the time of the Roman province
of Pannonia. Next there is a drive along the Ringstrasse
with its magnificent buildings such as Parliament, the State
Opera, City Hall and many others. You will also visit the
imperial winter residence Hofburg and walk to St. Stephan
Cathedral. After a lunch break you will visit the imperial
summer residence in Schonbrunn. On the way back there is
a possibility to stop and taste local specialities in a village
pub housed in a wine cellar.

Guided
Bike Tour
Take a ride into an unspoilt countryside
with a trained instructor-guide and return to the city centre
on a sightseeing boat. The tour starts with a bike ride on the
track along the Danube's embankment, followed by 8 km on
a road with light traffic to the Devin Castle rock. Here
an educational trail starts which is ideal for biking and
runs through the floodplains of the Morava River. This
precious area with rich fauna and flora has been saved ironically
due to the former existence of the "Iron Curtain". After cycling
a part of the path you will return to the Devin Castle and board
a sightseeing boat.
