Bratislava City Break Guide
When you arrange your flight with one of the airlines
operating Bratislava
Airport and book
your accommodation, get ready for an unforgettable weekend
city break in our "Little Big City".
Friday
After you check-in at the one of the recommended
Bratislava hotels or apartments,
just stroll around Korzo, the pedestrian only zone of the historical
city centre. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of Bratislava and meet
some strange
local folks. For dinner, we would recommend you to have some
typical Slovak food. Why not trying Prasna
Basta Restaurant on Zamocnicka street or Perugia Hotel Restaurant
Gazdovsky
dvor on Zelena street? Tempt your taste buds with hearty Slovak
& Hungarian cuisine, well washed down with a glass of good beer
or quality wine. And if you don’t feel like going to bed after
dinner, you might want to have a drink or two at Peoples
Lounge on Gorkeho. This place will definitely be full of party
people on Friday night.
Saturday
Saturday morning would be the ideal time for some sightseeing.
It is nice just to walk around the Old Town with its essential
sights. Stop at one of the numerous cafes and restaurants
for a drink and soak up the cosy atmosphere of Bratislava. You
can also go for one of the scheduled
city tours that will also give you brief information on Bratislava's
rich history. After the walking you can stop by for a typical
pub food at the popular Dubliner
Irish Pub on Sedlarska street or having some spicy treat at
the next-door Hacienda
Mexicana. Whether you take a short nap after the lunch or
not, you definitely should not skip a tour of the upturned-bed-like
Bratislava Castle with its medieval exhibits. The Castle hill
offers panoramic views of the city. As an alternative, you could
take an elevator up to the UFO-like
tower and restaurant above the New Bridge with the roofless
observation deck at 95 meters above the street level. If you are
into the history and art, check one of Bratislava museums
and galleries. In the evening, it is time to enjoy the latest
culinary trends in one of the stylish restaurants, e.g. Tempus
Fugit on Sedlarska, Paparazzi
on Laurinska street or
Le
Monde on Hviezdoslavo namestie. If you feel like partying
the 17’s Bar on Hviezdoslavovo namestie, Woch Music Club on Frantiskanske
namestie or Charlies Pub on Spitalska might be the places for
you to be. If the drinks & dance is not what you are looking for,
you could spend a romantic night in the acclaimed, yet favourably
priced Bratislava Opera
in its beautiful historical building on Hviezdoslavovo namestie.
Sunday
On Sunday morning you could take a boat trip to the historical
Castle of Devin. Or just relax and pamper yourself in Aulandia
Spa situated in the AUPARK shopping mall just across the Danube,
on the other side of the New Bridge. Water attractions, jacuzzis,
massages and other treats are available. For a piece of action,
you might try rafting
in Cunovo. After the pleasant morning, you will definitely
love the exquisite brunch at the Opera
Brasserie at the historical Carlton Hotel. This dining experience
could be one of the highlights of you trip. Before you leave our
"Little Big City", you will probably want to get some
souvenirs in one of the small shops around the Main Square, to
remind you the nice time spent in Bratislava.
Whatever your preferences are, we will be happy helping you to
arrange the great weekend break. Any questions you might have,
